Earlier today, our beloved St. Stephen the Protomartyr Parish honored Our Lady of Lourdes on her Feast day. The celebration began with the Sacrament of Confession, followed by a Healing Mass. Many of our parishioners who are suffering from illnesses or afflictions joined us, seeking solace, comfort, and healing through the intercession of Our Lady.
The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes honors the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes, France, in 1858. During these apparitions, Mary revealed herself as the Immaculate Conception and instructed Bernadette to dig a spring, which became a source of healing for countless pilgrims.
We were blessed to have our very own parish priest, Rev. Fr. Paulo B. Barandon, celebrate this special Mass with us. We pray that the loving presence and maternal care of Our Lady of Lourdes continue to envelop us, and that we may have experienced the healing power of God’s love during this celebration.
