The Bishop of Legazpi officially announces the schedule for Inang Magayon 2025, the annual May festival in honor of Nuestra Señora de Salvación. With the theme “Maria: Bitoon nin Paglaom” (Mary: Star of Hope), this year’s celebration builds on the vibrant devotion witnessed last year, drawing pilgrims and communities together in prayer, culture, and faith.
The celebration begins on May 1 (Thursday) with the Grand Marian Procession (IM-GMP), featuring a maritime procession from Joroan to Sawangan via Tabaco Port, followed by a welcome procession to Sawangan and a Eucharistic Celebration at Sawangan Park, presided by Msgr. Crispin C. Bernarte, Jr., Vicar General for Administration. The evening will conclude with the Grand Marian Procession to Albay Cathedral.
Novena Masses will be held from May 2 to 10 at the Albay Cathedral in honor of the Blessed Mother.
The culminating event, the Inang Magayon Albay Grand Aurora (IM-AGA), will take place on May 10 (Saturday), with a Mass at the Cathedral at 5:30 PM presided by The Most Rev. Joel Z. Baylon, D.D., Bishop of Legazpi, followed by a Grand Aurora Procession to St. Raphael Parish, Legazpi.
“Inang Magayon” is envisioned as a growing diocesan tradition that deepens love for Mary and renews the faith of devotees. All parishes and the faithful are invited to take part in this celebration of hope, unity, and Marian devotion.
Further details will be announced through official parish channels and diocesan platforms.
