Ligao City is set to witness a profound expression of Marian devotion as the St. Stephen the Protomartyr Parish launches the 1st Marian Procession and the 2nd Marian Exhibit under the unifying theme, “Mater Spei” – Mother of Hope. This heartfelt celebration invites all faithful to come together in prayer, reverence, and cultural celebration in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
1st Marian Procession – May 31, 2025
Marking a historic moment in the parish’s journey of faith, the first-ever Marian Procession will take place on May 31, 2025. It promises to be a grand yet solemn event, uniting parishioners, devotees, and religious groups in a public display of love and veneration for the Mother of God. Through hymns, prayers, and candle-lit reverence, participants will walk in faith and hope—echoing Mary’s timeless message of peace and obedience to God’s will.
2nd Marian Exhibit – May 21–30, 2025
In preparation for the procession, the parish will host its 2nd Marian Exhibit from May 21 to 30, 2025. This exhibit, showcasing sacred statues and beautifully adorned altars, offers a serene space for prayer, reflection, and appreciation of local artistry inspired by Marian devotion. Visitors will have the chance to deepen their understanding of Mary’s many titles and apparitions.
Organized by the Parish Altares and Sacred Statue Owners Association (PASSOS), this dual event reflects the parish’s vibrant spiritual life and commitment to honoring the Blessed Mother. More than just tradition, Mater Spei serves as a reminder that in times of trial and joy alike, we are guided by the hope and intercession of our Blessed Mother.
