As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and prepare for the Feast of St. Stephen, our patron saint , our team at St. Stephen the Protomartyr Parish, Ligao City, embraced the true spirit of Christmas – giving and sharing love. Inspired by Rev. Fr. Paulo Barandon, parish priest; instead of receiving carols, we gave Noche Buena packages to the poorest of the poor in the barangays and sitios of Ligao City . The gift packs contains 5 kilos rice, 1 kilo spaghetti with spaghetti sauce, 1 cheese and 1 corned beef which came from the offering of the parishioners during the Simbang Gabi (7pm) and Misa de Aguinaldo (4:30 am).
Chona Pintor (Chair, Finance Council) and the Commission on Youth spearheaded this initiative, helping to distribute Noche Buena packages to those in need.
A special thanks to Kuya Louie Aguilar (BEC) and Bro. Tino & Den Ubalde (Chair, Family & Life Commission) for evaluating the beneficiaries.
This heartwarming initiative is part of our Diocese’s Year of Mission and 75th year celebration. A big THANK YOU to our generous benefactors who made this possible.
“Sa bawat regalo, may pag-asa; sa bawat pagbigay, may pagmamahal. Salamat sa pagiging instrumento ng pag-asa sa ating mga kapatid.”
*Blessed and nourished by Christ, sent on mission with the boldness of St. Stephen
