Catechetical Ministry of SSPP Jubilee Year (2025)

GRADE FOUR PUPILS RECEIVE SACRAMENTS

The first of its kind in the parish this year of our Lord 2025, elementary school pupils of Tinago and Pinit respectively have received Jesus in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist after having availed of the Sacrament of Reconciliation with Rev. Fr. PAULO B. BARANDON and Rev. Fr. ROMEO REALINGO Jr. on March 28, 2025. It took the catechists six meetings to prepare the Grade Four pupils, for the Christian faith particularly the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, the central act of Christian worship commemorating the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and considered the source and summit of the Christian life.

Analisa Robles, Rosanna Montero, Michelle Patanao and Alma Payno, members of the Catechetical Ministry of St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish did the noble job of introducing the meaning and significance of the Eucharist and its Key Elements which are the following: the Proclamation of the Word of God, Thanksgiving, Consecration and the Reception of the Body and Blood of Christ.

The Eucharist is a memorial of Jesus’ death and resurrection celebrated through a shared meal of bread and wine. It is a sacrament, meaning a visible sign of an invisible grace, which Christ Himself is present.

Catholics believe that during the Eucharist, the bread and wine are  transformed into the body and blood of Christ, a belief known as TRANSUBSTANTIATION. Further, the Eucharist is seen as a source of spiritual nourishment and a way to deepen one’s relationship with Christ. Ultimately,  the Eucharist is also a sign of unity and charity uniting the believers as one Body of Christ.

Currently, other members of the Catechetical Ministry have calendared the succeeding First Holy Communion activities in the entire parish this coming month of April 2026.
