Reflection: This Holy Monday reflects on contemplating our sin. As we look back on God’s suffering, died on the cross for our transgressions. We often leads to a desire for forgiveness both from God and from those who have been hurt . This can involve prayer, confession and seeking reconciliation with others . It includes reflecting the damage to one’s relationship and separation from God. Jesus stand before us, embodying truth and courage against power and oppression. Pressure to compromise our values can be intense , but Jesus shows us true strength lies in doing what’s right. Many of us aspire to follow in God’s footsteps yet temptation abound. We are surrounded by sin especially prevalent in the pervasive influence on social media . Despite this, God remains ever-present ready to save us.
The second point. As the Lord says , Our Spirit is strong but Our Flesh is Weak. We always possess the will to do good, but our human frailty hinders us. They always wanted to be kind and compassionate but our flesh might react with anger or frustration. We are encourage to resist temptation and live a life that is pleasing to God. It highlights the importance of self awareness, self control and striving for a life that is both fulfilling and meaningful.
The third and last point. As St. Augustine makes this statement , you have made us for yourself, O Lord , Our heart is restless until they rest in you . That humans have an inherent, unfillable longing for something beyond earthly possessions, which St. Augustine believed that this restlessness is a natural of the human experience and constant search for meaning that true peace and satisfactions can only be found in a relationship with God, who is the ultimate source of fulfillment .
Closing Prayer . Gracious God as we conclude this Lenten recollection, we offer you our heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to turn our hearts to you, to reflect on your Love and Mercy and to seek forgiveness from our short comings. May the insights and grace we have received during this time empower us to Love more faithfully and fully in your will, help us to embrace the joy of Easter with open hearts and mind. Amen
