Ligao City, Albay – June 28, 2025 —
With hearts ablaze and spirits united, the Legazpi Diocesan Association of Parish PREX Secretariat (LDAPPS) successfully held A BLAZE 2: A Diocesan PREX Congress last June 28, 2025 at the Ligao City Gymnasium, hosted by the St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish.
Anchored on the theme, “An PREX mga Peregrino na nagbabaklay: Inaapod na magin buhay na tanda nin paglaom” (PREX Pilgrims on a Journey: Called to be Living Signs of Hope), the congress gathered hundreds of PREX graduates, parish servants, and spiritual leaders from across the Diocese of Legazpi. It was a meaningful day of prayer, formation, fellowship, and celebration of the ongoing mission of PREX in transforming parish communities.
The program opened with a Bible Enthronement followed by a talk on Evangelization centered on the topic “Paglaom Nin Kabanalan” given by Msgr. Crispin C. Bernarte Jr. V.G, Chancery, Old Albay District, Legazpi City and highlighted by a Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Most Reverend Joel Z. Baylon, the Bishop of Legazpi, concelebrated with attending priests from all over the diocese, calling the faithful to deepen their discipleship and continue walking as hopeful witnesses amidst the challenges of today. A series of talks, testimonies, praise songs and joyful animations followed, all aimed at reawakening the zeal of PREX missionaries to be agents of renewal within their parishes.
One of the highlights of the event was the inspirational sharing of PREX pilgrim whose life was transformed through the program. Her stories echoed the Congress’ call—to remain steadfast in faith, active in service, and joyful in journeying with fellow believers.
The St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish, under the dynamic leadership of its parish PREX Secretariat led by Kuya Ted Revidad and Ate Liza Revidad and the warm hospitality of its parishioners, served as gracious hosts of the diocesan event, ensuring a well-organized and spiritually enriching experience for all delegates.
As the Congress concluded with a commitment prayer, participants left rekindled with purpose—to carry the fire of hope and evangelization to the peripheries of the Diocese and beyond.
Indeed, A BLAZE 2 was not merely a gathering, but a spiritual spark that continues to ignite the mission of PREX across generations—one pilgrim, one parish, one promise of hope at a time. The overall success of the PREX Congress was a conglomeration of efforts by the Technical Working Group headed by the Diocesan PREX Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Fredolin B. Cid.
