Reflecting on Faith: Parish of St. Stephen the Protomartyr observes Stations of the Cross

The Parish of St. Stephen Protomartyr in Ligao City, Albay, observed the traditional Catholic devotion of the Stations of the Cross. The annual Via Crucis was held along the processional road, gathering members of various religious organizations and parishioners.

The solemn ceremony commenced with an opening prayer led by the parish deacon. Participants then proceeded to the first station, embarking on a reflective journey through the Stations of the Cross. Along the way, they contemplated the various aspects of Jesus’ passion.

Members of the Ministry of Lectors and Commentators (LeCom) played a crucial role, reading the catechesis and prayers at each station. The ceremony concluded with the fifteenth station, where participants meditated on the theme of hope and the promise of resurrection.

As the participants dispersed, many were visibly moved by the experience. For many, the Stations of the Cross served as a poignant reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity and the importance of living out one’s faith in everyday life.
