May 21, 2025 – Ligao City, Albay, Philippines –
In a powerful display of faith and unity, St. Stephen the Protomartyr Parish led this week’s Wednesday Family Rosary in front of the venerated image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, drawing together families, religious organizations, ministries, lay faithful and parishioners in a spiritual gathering.
The devotion, marked by heartfelt prayer and solemn reflection, was broadcast live across multiple platforms, including TV Maria, Radyo Veritas Manila, CBCP News, Manila Cathedral FB Pages and simultaneous live streams on St. Stephen’s official website, Facebook page, and YouTube channel. The initiative was met with overwhelming participation and support from the lay faithful both onsite and online.
Presiding over the rosary was Fr. Paulo B. Barandon, parish priest of St. Stephen the Protomartyr, who encouraged all participants to offer their intentions to the Blessed Mother and to unite in prayer for peace, family unity, and national healing.
“This is more than just a tradition—it is a moment of encounter with Christ through Mary,” besides, to be recognized by these giant Catholic media is indeed a great honor, Fr. Pau shared. “We are blessed to stand together as one community of faith, lifting our voices in prayer.”
Families gathered in reverent silence, clutching their rosaries, together with members of various parish ministries and organizations, including the youth, parish choir, and religious groups and organizations, while the Rabe family of Binatagan, Ligao City took turns leading the decades. The image of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, the second patroness of the parish, stood as the focal point of devotion throughout the evening.
The Wednesday Family Rosary is part of a continuing mission by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to foster deeper family prayer life and Marian devotion across the nation.
As the voices of prayer echoed both in the church and through the digital airwaves, the event reaffirmed the Church’s mission to remain spiritually connected in an increasingly digital and fast-paced world.
