From August 16 to 18, 2024, the parish of St. Stephen Protomartyr witnessed a profound event that left a lasting impact on its participants and the wider parish community. Over the course of this spiritually enriching weekend, fourteen (14) dedicated individuals completed the Parish Renewal Experience (PREX) seminar, marking a significant milestone in their faith journeys.
A Deep Dive into Faith
The PREX seminar is known for its deep exploration of faith, community, and service. Participants are encouraged to examine their spiritual lives, renew their commitment to the teachings of Christ, and foster stronger connections with fellow parishioners. The seminar blends talks, group discussions, personal reflections, and community-building activities, offering a holistic approach to spiritual renewal.
The Journey of the 14 Completers
For the fourteen participants who completed the weekend journey, the experience was both challenging and rewarding. Each brought their unique stories, struggles, and hopes to the seminar, creating a rich tapestry of shared experiences. The seminar provided a safe space for these individuals to open their hearts, confront their spiritual challenges, and find support in their faith community. Throughout the weekend, participants engaged in a series of talks that delved into key aspects of the Catholic faith, such as forgiveness, prayer, and the importance of family and community. These sessions were designed to inspire introspection and foster a deeper understanding of what it means to live a life centered on Christ. The small group discussions that followed each talk allowed participants to share their thoughts and insights, building a sense of camaraderie and mutual support.
A Renewed Commitment to Serve
As the weekend came to a close, the sense of renewal and purpose was palpable. The fourteen completers emerged not just as individuals with a deeper understanding of their faith but as a unified group committed to serving their parish and community. The closing ceremony was a poignant moment, with each participant receiving a certificate of completion, symbolizing their readiness to embark on the next phase of their spiritual journey.
The impact of this PREX seminar will undoubtedly ripple through the parish of St. Stephen Protomartyr. The fourteen completers are now equipped to take on more active roles in parish life, bringing fresh energy and ideas to the various ministries and outreach programs. Their renewed faith and commitment are expected to inspire others in the parish to embark on their own journeys of spiritual renewal.
Looking Ahead
The success of this PREX seminar is a testament to the dedication of both the organizers and participants. It serves as a reminder of the importance of ongoing spiritual formation within the parish community. As these fourteen individuals continue to grow in their faith and service, they will be beacons of light and hope, encouraging others to explore the richness of their Christian faith.
St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish through the stewardship of Rev. Fr. Paulo B. Barandon, Parish Priest and Spiritual Director looks forward to hosting more events like this, ensuring that the flame of faith burns ever brighter in the hearts of its parishioners. The journey of these fourteen is just the beginning of a renewed commitment to living out the Gospel in everyday life. (Ana Liza L. Revidad / Ted R. Revidad)
